Going agile with okicamp

okiCamp

Last week we organised our first okicamp. For 3 days our team sat together and worked on new features for okimok. This agile way of working looked like the best way to go since everyone is involved in other daily businesses as well. Now we’re proud to announce that okimok will soon have some great new functionalities for you guys!
Thanks to the extreme programming of Coding Dutchmen and Jasper Gremmen (founder of waarbenjij.nu), who both joined our okicamp, we were able to work on an okimok API, which in turn made it able to enhance the iPhone app and build a dedicated okimok widget.
In the end, we could say okicamp worked out great! Working in agile development cycles not only results in an incrementally enhanced and improved okimok platform, it also ensures 3 days of absolute fun and dedication!

okimok survey: raise your voice

oh hi, guys! we would like your opinion on some new innovations we’re planning to do on okimok. by participating in our survey, you can help us decide in which directions we should innovate. thanks and keep it streaming!

we’re very curious of your opinion on the following 8 questions:

1/8: get your own okimok photo frame?get okimok into your livingroom! hook up an okimok photo frame to your local WiFi and receive your combo stream onto your frame. instead of surfing to the okimok website every now and then, you can now follow the adventures of your friends just by looking at the frame!

2/8: get your photos printed?select your best photos from your combo stream and get them printed by okimok. within a couple of days your photos will be delivered by the mailman. also, you can let okimok send your printed photos to anyone you like!

3/8: add photos from your social websites?add photos from your other social website accounts, such as Flickr, Facebook or Myspace, to your okimok photo stream. now you'll have all your photos in one central stream and friends can stay up to date with your adventures at one glance.

4/8: Window Mobile app?maybe you've experienced that most of your friends have smart phones running on Windows Mobile. When we make a dedicated Windows Mobile app that enables them to upload their photos as well, more friends can join okimok.

5/8: add an okimok widget to Facebook?you have a Facebook account and you want to share your okimok adventures on Facebook as well? simply install the okimok Facebook widget and show either your solo or combo stream in it.

6/8: get your photos archived?let okimok automatically archive all your old photos, so you can access them any time you want. off course only the most recent ones will show up in your photo stream.

7/8: comment on photos with text replies?feeling the urge to comment on certain photos? leave a text reply to a single photo or see how other photos have already been commented.

8/8: upload photos by mail?besides using the okimok iPhone app to upload your photos, you can now upload photos from other sources as well, such as your local drive. simply mail them to okimok and they are automatically added to your photo stream.

Status blog started

Oh hi! We’re building this thing called okimok. It will have something to do with photos and sharing. Yeah, we know what you think… doesn’t that already exist in a multitude of web services? Yeah, it does, but we think we’ve found a different way of sharing photos.
